So geht's:

Probably everyone else knows it already, but I've just found out how easy the hooded baby bathing towels are to make. Here's how:
- out of a 150x100 cm piece of fabric cut out two 75x75 cm squares and two triangles with a side lenght of 25 cm. Pin triangle corner to square corner, sew. Attach trimming if you like it, otherwise just work the edges with a zigzag. Ready!

Here you can download the tutorial for a Froggy-Towel. The templates for the eyes are already in original size - just print out on A4-paper.

Original-Rezept gibt's hier: http://www.piciecastagne.it/2012/10/22/minestra-di-castagne-e-funghi/

Kastanien-Pilzsuppe

- 1/2 Lauchstange

Lauchstange in Ringe schneiden, in Öl andünsten.

Apparently there are people who can survive on just air and love (or air and knitting for that matter). Unfortunately, I'm not one of those. So here is a fast and tasty recipe to catch away the first winter blues.
Adapted from here: http://www.piciecastagne.it/2012/10/22/minestra-di-castagne-e-funghi/

Chestnut and Mushroom Soup

- 1/2 leek
- 250 gr mushrooms (button mushrooms, porcini, fresh or frozen whatever you have)
- 250 gr boiled chestnuts, or a handfull of dried (soaked for 1 hour in water)
- a handfull of pearled barley
- 1 ts of chestnut flour (optional)
- some dried porcini (optional)
- broth
 -salt, pepper, olive oil

Soak dried porcini in warm water for 15 minutes. Sautee leeks in olive oil, add mushrooms, sautee for another 5 minutes. Add chestnuts and soaked dried mushrooms and the chestnut flour if using, add some broth and stir well to abid the chestnut flour building clumps. Add the barley, the broth and the soaking liquid of the mushrooms (if used dried), salt and pepper and let cook for about 20 minutes until barley is cooked through. Drizzle with good olive oil and enjoy.
